Pastor Joseph Frierson, Sr.

Pastor Joseph Frierson, Sr. is the Senior Pastor and Founder of New Life Christian Church in Raleigh, NC. He is married to Wanda Frierson, and they have two children, and one grandson. He and his wife reside in Garner, NC.

Joseph Frierson is a native of Georgetown, SC, and attended Savannah State College where he received a B.S. in Mathematics & Physics. He received his biblical training from Gospel Lighthouse Ministries in Columbus, OH, under Dr. Jerry Fryar. Pastor Frierson received additional training at Gospel Assembly Ministries in Sterling, VA. During his ministerial training at Gospel Assembly, Pastor Frierson was licensed and ordained. Listening and obeying the voice of God, Pastor Frierson began New Life Christian Church in the summer of 1998. Through the name of Jesus, souls are being saved, minds are being transformed, and families are experiencing the love of the Heavenly Father.

Pastor Frierson worked for 23 years as a senior computer software engineer for several major companies. While working in the hi-tech industry, God laid it upon his heart to leave the industry to devote more time to growing the ministry’s capacity to effectively change lives. He and his wonderful wife work together in the ministry, and are leading the congregation as they follow Christ. Through the grace of God and the amazing pastoral leadership of Pastor Frierson; the church will continue to reach souls, and affect the local community.

Pastor Frierson is also a certified mathematics teacher in the Wake County Public High School, and enjoys teaching high school level mathematics when his schedule allows.

Pastor Frierson’s favorite scripture is found in Isaiah 40:31, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”

1st Lady Wanda Frierson

First Lady Wanda Michelle Frierson is co-founder of New Life Christian Church in Raleigh, NC, were she serves as Assistant Pastor. She is married to Joseph Frierson, Sr., and they have two wonderful children, and a grandson.

Wanda Frierson was born in Goldsboro, NC, and raised in Philadelphia, PA. As a graduate of Mount Olive College, she received an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. She continued her education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where she received a B.A. degree in Special Education. She is an elementary school teacher in the Wake County Public School System. She has received numerous awards for her dedication to students with special needs.

Wanda Frierson is a born-again, spirit-filled believer, who received Jesus Christ as her personal Savior in 1976. She gives praise and honor to God for the spiritual foundation received during her childhood. Surrounded by a host of pastors and God-centered family leadership that offered guidance and consistent prayers; Wanda Frierson is able to teach and nurture others along their personal journey as a result of her spiritual upbringing. First Lady accepted the call upon her life, and was licensed and ordained in 1999. Through motivational techniques and affective spiritual teachings, First Lady Frierson delivers a powerful word that will change your thinking…forever.

First Lady Frierson’s favorite scripture is found in Philippians 3:16, “I press toward the goal for the upward call of God in Jesus Christ.”

NLCC's Youth Ministry empowers the youth with the Word of God, by providing biblical principles. NLCC's Youth Ministry's ultimate goal is to encourage our youth to influence their surroundings, experience academic excellence, develop strong social skills, and strategically plan their future for success.

Media/Technology Ministry

The goal of NLCC's Media/Technology Ministry is to introduce ordinary people to their "New Life" by providing virtual exposure to all of the wonderful things New Life Christian Church is doing within our church family and through out our community.

Men's Ministry

The Men’s Ministry at NLCC is interested in the spiritual, emotional, and physical wellness of every man that worships with our ministry. We are certain that God has a plan for the lives of all men, and the ministry wants to be a resource that assists men of all ages through life’s ups and downs. Through meaningful fellowship and relevant wisdom, men are living transformed lives without fear. The Men’s Ministry is open to members and supports of NLCC. Join us for our next empowering event.
